Returning to Ubisoft Press Conference is the beautiful and talented Aisha Tyler. As far as hosts go, she is fantastic and top tier. The conference itself was good. Lots of games, and a few new details that were not released prior to the show. The pacing was good and everyone seemed genuinely excited about their products. Overall the Conference’s theme is Open World Multiplayer and they stuck to. I give the presentation a A-. I would love to give more, but there was nothing really new that we didn’t know was coming from Ubisoft.
No onwards to the games!
You got the games you knew what was going to have. Just Dance, The Division, Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs, Trials, Grow Up, but a few gems hidden in there.
The Division released not only one, but two expansions!
Ghost Recon Wildlands looks like a multiplayer Metal Gear. Lots of variables and things to do, even though the physical attacks look bad.
South Park: The Fractured but Whole got a new trailer and play. Matt Stone and Trey Parker came back for the show and were fantastic. The game looks amazing, and lots of new variables in the game. The humor is much darker- ala- south park, and based around a civil war in South Park.
Eagle Flight was a bit of a shock. This was the first on stage Live PvP VR demo ever! The game looked good, had a more Windwaker’esc art direction. The game play was pretty Solid and the demo went over very well, and has me interested in the product!
Star Trek Bridge Crew. Nothing really to report. There are companies that do bridges at conventions that have better set ups and games. Good start though.
For Honor might have been everyone’s favorite. A more detailed art and story based Dynasty Warriors type game. Focused on conquering empires. Very bloody and beautiful game.
Steep. Ubisoft’s new IP. A open world mountain simulator, for extreme sports enthusiasts. Uses what you love about “the Crew” and puts it on a mountain.
Sadly no Assassin’s Creed news, but an in-depth preview of the movie and also confirmed that there is a Watch Dogs movie in the works as well!
